Berlin 8 Open Access Conference (Berlin 8), jointly hosted by Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, and Max Planck Society, Germany, will be held in October 25-27, 2010, in Beijing, China.

The main theme of Berlin 8 is:
Berlin Declaration: Implementation Progress, Best Practices, and Future Challenges.
The following sub-themes are suggested but not limited to:
Trends in international scholarly communications and open access
Strategies and policies of funding agencies
OA strategies, policies, and implementations at R&D institutions
Open Data, Open Educational Resources, and Open Science
Current Research on Open Access, including legal issues, economy, impact, user participations, and others
Administrative and operational issues in implementing OA
Supporting mechanisms for sustainable OA
OA in developing countries and in the world.
Registration
Berlin 8 welcomes all those interested in open access to participate. You can register at Berlin 8 Conference website http://www.berlin8.org.
Regular registration fee for international participants would be 300 euros, and the early-bird registration before August 20 is 240 euros. The registration fee will cover the conference sessions and a free access to post-conferences sessions, lunches for Oct. 25-27, the reception, and one local cultural visit on Oct. 27,2010. |
