Gina Pavone is a graduate fellow at The Institute of Information Science and Technologies of the Italian National Research Council in Pisa, Italy. She is involved in Open Science and Open Access to Research Data, her activities range from the definition of strategies and tools for the support and training of researchers to the dissemination of OS activities and initiatives. She is currently working as OpenAIRE National Open Access Desk (NOAD) for Italy and she is one of the node coordinators of RDA in Italy. She holds a MSc in publishing and writing from Sapienza University of Rome, where she specialized in investigative journalism. She attended a data journalism summer school at the University of Trieste and a course on visual journalism at the University of Bolzano. She also completed a master course in big data analytics & social mining at the University of Pisa. She has written for different newspapers and magazines, realizing inquiries and reports, and she has worked as data journalist and data analyst, dealing in particular with open data and public data analysis and using open data for transparency projects regarding institutions and public administrations.
