Over the last decade she has been involved in promoting and advocating Open Access and institutional repositories in Italy and at international level. In 2004 she started a project at CASPUR to provide technical support to implement OA repositories and OA journals in universities based in the centre and the South of Italy. In the same year she joined  CILEA in the development of  the project PLEIADI, the Portal to Italian OA scholarly literature which she now coordinates. She is one of the founder of  the OA-Italia wiki,the main source of information on Open Access issues in Italian. Recently she has been appointed as OA expert to support the National Point of Reference to implement the EU Recommendations on access and preservation of scientific Information. At European level, she was member of the EUA (European University Association) Working Group on Open Access, representing the Italian Rectors Counci- OA Working Group in 2008, was on the Board of SPARC Europe (2008-2012) and on the Technical Committee of SCOAP3 (2011-2012).Since the merger of CASPUR and CILEA into CINECA, she has coordinated  the participation of CINECA in FP7 funded projects related with Open Access issues (MedOANet, OpenAire Plus).

She works as the Assistant Secretary General at the Rectorate of the University of Ljubljana in the University Office of Library Services.
