Will digital technologies contribute to building desirable futures in rural areas, or will they get us further away from the desired ambitions?
DESIRA, a H2020 project, aims to improve the capacity of society to respond to the challenges and opportunities of digitalisation in rural areas. Through a network of 20 Living Labs in the European rural areas, the project will assess the past, current and future socio-economic impacts of ICT-related innovation.
Collaboration with OpenAIRE brings in the forefront research related to the assessment of socio-economic benefits of digitalisation in agriculture, forestry or rural areas: the DESIRA Dashboard aggregates more than 500 software artefacts and 11.000 datasets, is linked to 16 Zenodo communities, while it makes available publications, data, software and research outcomes from 82 projects.
