Another year is slowly coming to an end. Despite the difficulties, 2021 has been rewarding. We want to take this opportunity to reflect on the previous year and thank you for your continued support.‍

ABOUT US

‍In 2021, our team has significantly grown. High-skilled people from all over Europe with a passion for Open Science have joined the OpenAIRE team. At the same time, our new Executive Board with prominent members from the Open Science ecosystem was formed to guide our vision in the next years.

OUR PARTNERSHIPS

‍We have expanded our network with new NOADs (Ukraine, Armenia), established new partnerships with European university consortia (EUt+, Aurora) and international organisations (COAR, CARL) towards an aligned approach to Open Science.

FOSTERING LOCAL &

GLOBAL COMMUNITIES

‍We had the chance to run and attend many events. The Open Science Fair 2021, organized as an emblematic initiative of OpenAIRE, hosted 4 keynotes, 3 round table discussions, 17 workshops, 12 demos, 36 lightning talks and brought together participants from more than 80 countries and with one goal: to foster local and global Open Science communities.

OUR PROJECTS & SERVICES

‍In 2021, we started three H2020 projects. OpenAIRE-Nexus kicked off, marking a new phase in the operation of OpenAIRE services, ensuring a high quality service to the European and the global community. EOSC Future followed due, a flagship initiative, aiming to build the core services of the European Open Science Cloud. Accompanied by IntelComp, which aims to provide a data space of linked research information to be used in the assessment and formulation of Science, Technology and Innovation policies.

‍2022 will bring us new challenges and, at the same time, new opportunities. Let’s make the best out of it. And let’s work all together to “Set Science. Free”. Here is to a year full of blessings!
