The new OpenAIRE Learning Platform: a focal point to spread good research practices
To better provide training knowledge for open science, research data management (RDM), FAIR principles and other topics that together provide the backbone to good research, OpenAIRE will unveil in the first quarter of this year a new learning management system (LMS) based on Moodle. This LMS will incorporate several features that will enable existing members of OpenAIRE, as well as collaborators to create and run courses in an online environment.
The platform will support mixed modes of learning and content, with multilingual support and embedded authoring tool, and with courses accessible free at the point of use.
We invite you to join us on this journey and provide your feedback when start learning, and think about what content could be included. This platform is for the community and will rely on the community to realise its full potential!
Research assessment must reform to recognise open and responsible research practices
Read about the latest findings from the ON-MERIT project on how the extent to which practices and goals of Open Science and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) activities are considered by universities across the globe when assessing researchers for promotion and tenure.
New functionality of the FAIR-Aware tool: hands-on examples
How to communicate FAIR? How to spark up a conversation on FAIR with your audience? How to assess one's knowledge of FAIR? Maaike Verburg and Linas Cepinskas from DANS delivered two demo sessions during the OSFAIR2021. Access the recording and the presentation slides.
Monitoring of the uptake of open science policies is a strategic priority for OpenAIRE. Our Open Science Strategies Standing Committee organised an OpenAIRE members-only workshop to collect and share information about the various initiatives related to Open Science monitoring and indicators around Europe and present an update on the work, the tools and services of OpenAIRE.

Turkey Accelerates Open Science with New Horizon Europe Agreements
Turkey joins Horizon Europe, Erasmus+ and Solidarity Corps. What does this mean and how will this accelerate Open Science in practice in the country? Gultekin Gurdal, Library Director at Izmir Institute of Technology and OpenAIRE Executive Board Member, shares his views on the topic.
"Unity is strength". This is the underlying principle that governs the alliance of two Greek OpenAIRE members, Athena Research Center and HEAL-Link, the National Library Consortium. The two organizations shared activities, experiences and results of their fruitful cooperation through a lightning talk.
Are you currently involved in RDA and understand the RDA mechanisms and outputs? Do you have skills to design and implement an open maintenance facility for a diverse range of outputs? Do you have a good understanding of EOSC and the FAIR movement? Do you work in a EU country or associate countries? Then this call is for you.
