Contribution to Open Science
The Bar Ilan University joined OpenAIRE in 2018 and is leading the effort to promote open science in Israel. In the past three years, we have organized several events promoting the importance of open science practices, including two national workshops.
BIU was in contact with the national policy makers and the main research Foundations in order to establish a National policy.
BIU and three other universities have been leading a national project to implement institutional repositories and a CRIS system in all Israeli universities
Through the years, the library has built up its services for researchers and introduced OS to graduate students.

- To establish an institutional policy on open science
- Develop more tools and services for researchers for best practices in Open Science
- Set a high standard for good open science practice in Israel

The library team offers help and guidance to researchers in terms of Open Access to publications, alongside the organisation of workshops and seminars for researchers and introduction webinar on OA to graduate students .
