OpenAIRE guidelines for data source managers ensure compatibility of the Horizon Europe Open Science requirements

Regarding European Commission (EC) funding projects, OpenAIRE provides instructions on how to expose the projects information metadata through the Guidelines for datasource managers (https://guidelines.openaire.eu/), now including Horizon Europe (HE) projects.

By following the OpenAIRE Guidelines for Literature, institutional, and thematic Repositories it is ensured that metadata specifications from the Horizon Europe (HE) Open Science requirements are met.

To this end, OpenAIRE started by updating the "OpenAIRE Guidelines for Literature Repository Managers v3", providing instructions on how to expose HE project's information, including an example of a Horizon Europe funding programme and project, that is now public available at https://guidelines.readthedocs.io/en/latest/literature/field_projectid.html.

orizonAs for "OpenAIRE Guidelines for Literature Repository Managers v4", there are no required updates to expose HE projects information, as the info:eu-repo/grantAgreement syntax was replaced by fundingReference element and subproperties from DataCite MetadataKernel v4.1, adding subproperty fundingStream to this application profile as detailed here.

Regarding the OpenAIRE projects API, will also be updated to include the HE projects information, essential for repositories that are consuming this API, to fill in the projects information in the metadata description of their records.
