Empowering the next generation of Data Stewards: Join the OpenAIRE FAIR RDM Bootcamp
As the research landscape evolves, the need for skilled data stewards who can support FAIR, ethical, and Open Science, aligned data practices has never been more urgent. To meet this need, OpenAIRE, in collaboration with DANS, University of Minho (UMinho), University of Latvia (VPC), and University of Belgrade (VINCA), is launching a comprehensive FAIR RDM Bootcamp for Data Stewards this October. This four-day hybrid programme blends expert-led live workshops, real-world case scenarios, and self-paced learning via OpenPlato, offering a transformative opportunity for early-career professionals working in research data management and stewardship.
The Bootcamp is structured around five pillars: defining the data steward role across the research lifecycle, mastering metadata and tools like Dataverse, applying FAIR principles using OpenAIRE services (Graph, Explore, Connect), navigating legal and ethical challenges, and building reflective peer-supported learning practices. The sessions are interactive, practical, and co-designed with Europe's leading Open Science and RDM experts. Participants will also explore certification frameworks such as CoreTrustSeal and gain insights into policy, governance, and repository readiness.
Two tracks are available:
- Public Open Sessions (free, accessible to all): Register here
- Closed Track (Oct 14,15 & 16): Participants who apply for this track will enter a selection process and, if chosen, can claim a Certificate of Completion and a Digital Badge based on active participation and daily task submission.
Apply for Closed Track (Closed):
