Mission
Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) aims to offer high-level higher education and training, and to promote lifelong learning with modern pedagogical methods, to produce and transmit scientific knowledge through research and teaching, and by contributing to addressing challenges in the fields of Science and Technology, to become a catalytic supporter of the State and society. Specifically, the mission focuses on creating added value with actions related to (i) Education, (ii) Research, Innovation and Know-how Transfer and (iii) Social Contribution.
Contribution to Open Science
Cyprus University of Technology prioritizes Open Science through several channels:
- Transformative agreements: Through its participation in the Cyprus Libraries Consortium, the University's Library enables academic staff, doctoral students, and full-time or part-time undergraduate and postgraduate students to publish in hybrid journals at no cost.
- Open Access funding: Two dedicated funds, the CUT Open Access Author Fund and the Remedica Open Access Author Fund, cover Article Processing Charges for publishing in open access journals.
- KTISIS repository: KTISIS is the University's Institutional Repository and research information system. It gathers, preserves and showcases the institution's research output including publications, research programmes, theses, conference papers and patents.
- Policy and compliance support: CUT strictly aligns with National and European Open Science policies by promoting Open and FAIR Research Data. To foster institutional research visibility, the library provides comprehensive support for open access publications, training and updates for faculty and researchers on how to register, manage, and update their academic profiles within the KTISIS repository and the implementation of the Institutional Open Science Policy and the Research Data Management policy and guide, including the creation of Data Management Plans and the deposition of datasets into certified open repositories.
