3-8 October 2010
University of Athens
The European project, DL.org (Digital Library Interoperability, Best Practices and Modelling Foundations) is delighted to announce its Autumn School on "Digital Libraries and Digital Repositories: Modelling, Best Practices, and Interoperability", which takes place in Athens, Greece, 3-8 October 2010.
Discounted fee extended until September 10, 2010!
Participation in the DL.org Autumn School (http://www.dlorg.eu/index.php/autumn-school/programme) will assist attendees in understanding of how to address interoperability challenges within the context of digital library and digital repositories, along the perspectives of content, user, functionality, policy, quality and architecture, the six core domains captured in the DELOS Digital Library Manifesto. In addition, the DL.org Autumn School offers participants the opportunity to network and socialise with other researchers, international experts, and practitioners across disciplinary and national boundaries.
Our research-oriented Autumn School is designed for researchers, PhD students and professionals engaged in the interdisciplinary DL field, including computer scientists, librarians and information scientists. Internationally established lecturers (http://www.dlorg.eu/index.php/autumn-school/lecturers) will lead each one half-day session and most will be available through the week for further discussion.
The Autumn School will take place at the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Athens (NKUA), and will be opened with a welcome evening reception on Sunday 3rd October 2010. This will give students opportunities to get to know each other and to exchange ideas among themselves and with the lecturers, who are expected to stay for most of the duration of the Autumn School.
