EOSC United
EOSC United aims to anchor and unite the European research community within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Federation, leveraging the blueprint and resources of the EOSC EU Node. The project supports uptake of EOSC services by researchers, infrastructures, data-providers, and industry, and contributes to shaping the governance, technical, and operational framework of the Federation.
Objectives:
Objectives:
- Foster uptake and evolution of the EOSC EU Node, demonstrating the value of the EOSC Federation.
- Drive standardisation of governance, legal, technical and business models across the Federation and align with other European Data Spaces.
- Grow participation in the Federation by engaging diverse stakeholders, increasing interdisciplinarity, and reinforcing EOSC’s strategic role beyond 2027.
Key Activities / How the Action is Delivered:
- Use-cases deployed via the EOSC EU Node to validate real-world researcher needs and cross-discipline scenarios.
- Stakeholder engagement, adoption calls, outreach to repositories, research infrastructures, software developers, industry and other data-spaces.
- Development of operational frameworks: rules of participation, interoperability frameworks, legal/business/incentive models, governance guidance.
Why It Matters:
By anchoring the EOSC Federation in a broad, heterogeneous European research ecosystem, EOSC United ensures that open, FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) research outputs and services become routinely available across disciplines and borders. It strengthens long-term sustainability of EOSC, harmonises national and European infrastructures, and supports research reproducibility and innovation.
