Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam
Mission
The mission of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) os “Creating positive societal impact through our education, research and engagement”. This mission is closely aligned with Open Science principles, as we must be transparent and accountable for our actions.
Contribution to Open Science
For Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, Open and responsible science practices aim to increase transparency, trustworthiness, and research efficiency and enhance research quality, visibility, and engagement. In 2021, the EUR launched a new initiative, the Open & Responsible Science (ORS) programme, which aims to make ORS practices the standard and default for science at Erasmus University Rotterdam and Erasmus Medical Center.
Goals and objectives
Building on existing foundations, Open & Responsible Science aims to:
- actively promote the ORS values to the EUR mission and strategic research goals, such as Recognition & Rewards, Impact at the Core, Erasmian Values and Diversity & Inclusion.
- align key areas such as open science, fair data, research evaluation practices, integrity, and ethics to make available support more accessible.
- share good practices and facilitate an open dialogue on open and responsible science.
