4 Nov 2024 - 8 Nov 2024

GenOA Week 2024 will continue the conversation from 2023, once again focusing on the theme: Community over Commercialisation.

“The theme of International Open Access Week 2024, Community over Commercialisation, builds on last year’s reflections, which emphasised the need to prioritise open scholarship approaches that benefit both the public and the academic community. Extending this theme for a second year highlights its significance and provides an opportunity to move beyond discussion towards meaningful collective action.
The issues raised in 2023 have become even more pressing in 2024, especially with developments like the rapid integration of artificial intelligence into commercial academic systems without adequate community input."
