In 2015, the European Commission initi ated the process to create a European Open Science Cloud. The EOSC aims to become a “trusted, v irtual, federated environment that cuts across borders and scientific disci plines to store, share, process and re-use research digital objects (like p ublications, data, and software) following FAIR principles”. The EOSC brings together institutional, national and European stakeholders, initiatives and data infrastructures t o develop an inclusive open science ecosystem in Europe. The higher goal is that this will lead to new insights and innovations, higher research produ ctivity and improved reproducibility in science.
By 2020, s everal steps have been taken on the “stairway to the EOSC heaven”. There ar e a couple of EOSC projects, an EOSC Association, a website full of documents, a list of services to be included in EOSC, but a lso a lot of promises remain hidden in the clouds. And which gaps and obstacles do you as a researcher, policy maker or service provider observe or experience?
The workshop that is organised in collaborat ion with the EOSC Synergy project will feature several speakers providing s hort updates followed by an interactive session using interactive polling.& nbsp;
