Gyongyi Karacsony is General Director at the University and National Library, University of Debrecen, Hungary (DEENK). She has ten years of professional experience in scholarly communication and open access. She represents Hungarian university libraries in a number of national and international projects and committees. Previously, she worked as Deputy Director coordinating electronic services, web service and portal development, digitisation, and end-user training. Gyongyi Karacsony has an educational background in English and Library Science gained during BA and MA studies at University of Debrecen (formerly Kossuth Lajos University), Hungary. Her current fields of interest include open science, research data management, research support, strategic planning, quality management and workflow management. Recently, she has participated in OpenAIRE and COAR as national contact point, and she is the coordinator of the HUNOR (Hungarian Open Access Repositories, www. open-access.hu) consortium.
