Introducing the New OpenAIRE Graph API: Call for beta testers

This month, we’re launching the new OpenAIRE Graph API, a major step forward in our mission to support Open Science and enrich the research community! The OpenAIRE Graph is leading one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of research metadata worldwide.

We've listened to your feedback and developed a new, more powerful API to enhance the user experience and make it easier for scientometricians and developers to access our data. Now, we’re inviting beta testers to help us refine it and shape the future of research!

TRAINING 
Tuscany Retreat: A Summer School on Data for Social Good

From June 16-22, the second SoBigDataPPP Summer School was held at the stunning Poggio all'Agnello Resort in Tuscany. This engaging event assembled over 30 PhD students, 10 expert speakers, and 4 keynote visionaries to explore “Empowering Data for Social Good.”

With a focus on Data Governance, Trustworthy AI, Sustainability, and Digital Health, the week was marked by insightful discussions and fresh starts of promising new collaborations.

CONFERENCE
WCRI 2024: Promoting Transparency and Accountability 

In June, OpenAIRE attended the 8th World Conference on Research Integrity (WCRI 2024) held in Athens. The event highlighted the importance of transparency and accountability in research.

Key discussions included the role of Open Science in enhancing research integrity and the ethical challenges posed by AI, emphasizing transparency and accountability in AI development. This conference underscored the need for collaborative efforts to maintain high standards in scientific research.

Unlocking New Horizons: SciLake's Scientific Knowledge Graphs

The SciLake Horizon Europe project is revolutionizing research with its Scientific Knowledge Graphs, integrating domain knowledge for better data connectivity and discovery.

Featuring pilots in areas of Neuroscience, Cancer, Transportation, and Energy, SciLake enhances research accessibility and interoperability.

Discover how SciLake's consortium of 13 partners from 9 countries is pioneering advancements in sustainable energy, neuroscience, automated mobility, and personalized cancer treatment.

EOSC
Advancing Open Science: Insights from the EOSC Beyond Workshop in Krakow

The EOSC Beyond Workshop in Krakow aimed at  enhancing EOSC capabilities through collaboration and technical innovation, creating a more interconnected research environment.

Key discussions involved the development of Minimum Viable Nodes, integration of pilot nodes with EOSC Core services, and future planning for the EOSC Federation network. OpenAIRE's role emphasized the promotion and training of new EOSC services, reinforcing their commitment to Open Science.

Digital Adventures: Treasure Hunt at Creating Knowledge 2024

At Creating Knowledge 2024 in Helsinki, OpenAIRE emphasized digital responsibility through an engaging "Treasure Hunt in OpenAIRE CONNECT" workshop. Participants explored OpenAIRE's tools and services, enhancing their understanding of Open Science practices. The interactive session demonstrated how to navigate and utilize OpenAIRE CONNECT for accessing research outputs, reinforcing the importance of transparency and ethical digital practices.
