The Future of European Repositories in Open Science

At the "Open and Engaged 2024" event at the British Library, Eloy Rodrigues, from the University of Minho and OpenAIRE's Executive Board, highlighted challenges and opportunities for European repositories. Drawing on insights from nearly 400 institutions, he emphasized the need for advocacy, best practices, and stronger national networks to address issues like outdated platforms and metadata inconsistencies.

OpenAIRE and partners are developing a roadmap to strengthen repositories as critical Open Science infrastructure, focusing on collaboration, innovation, and their vital role in building an equitable research future.
