The upcoming session will focus on two main topics:

  1. The New OpenAIRE Graph APIs and implications for data sources;
  2. The impact of repository metadata quality on the use of value-added services.

The Community calls are open to all OpenAIRE content provider managers and we welcome feedback from all users.

New OpenAIRE Validated Badge for registered and validated data sources

Get yours from the PROVIDE dashboard

In the evolving landscape of Open Access research, ensuring that repositories and data sources meet high standards of quality and interoperability is crucial; OpenAIRE PROVIDE plays a key role in this process, by offering the "OpenAIRE Validator tool" to evaluate the compatibility level of data sources with the OpenAIRE Guidelines.

The OpenAIRE validation process ensures that repositories adhere to OpenAIRE’s guidelines, promoting consistency, accuracy, and interoperability of metadata. By passing this validation, repositories demonstrate their commitment to follow global standards to expose their metadata, enhancing the interoperability and quality of their content.

Data sources that successfully meet OpenAIRE’s validation criteria can display the OpenAIRE Validated badge on their official website. This certification signals to researchers, institutions, and funders that the data source meets high-quality standards. Moreover, validated data sources are indexed in the OpenAIRE Graph, a vast, global interconnected research database, significantly improving discoverability and accessibility.

Track the aggregation history of your data source in OpenAIRE

Explore your PROVIDE dashboard

OpenAIRE allows for registration of scholarly communication data sources, such as Literature and Data Repositories, CRIS Systems, Journals, among others. Managers can register their data sources in OpenAIRE using the OpenAIRE PROVIDE service, which offers a dashboard with a set of added-value functionalities.

One of the available functionalities is the aggregation history, which provides managers with a dedicated page containing information about the metadata aggregation stages of their registered data sources.

For each aggregation stage (Collect and Transform) are presented the aggregation date, the number of records collected and transformed, the collection mode (Refresh or Incremental), and the successful completion status (true or false).

Additionally, managers can verify which version of the aggregated records is published on the public portals.

Supporting information is provided alongside the aggregation history to help managers understand each detail. Managers can also request additional support by contacting our experts through the Helpdesk System.
