Join the 36th OpenAIRE Content Providers Community Call

Upcoming meeting: April 2nd at 14h30 CEST

The Community Calls for Content Providers aim to present and discuss the most recent developments from OpenAIRE, upcoming releases from all the PROVIDE related services and other relevant topics. Through the calls, OpenAIRE provides clear and accurate information on its infrastructure and service developments.

The upcoming session will focus on two main topics:

  1. Insights from the Community Consultation on the European Repositories
  2. Survey from the EOSC FAIR Metrics and Digital Objects Task Force

The Community calls are open to all OpenAIRE content provider managers and we welcome feedback from all users.

The Future of European Repositories

Discover the key findings from the 2024 community consultation

A robust repository network is essential to safeguarding Europe’s research legacy and advancing scientific excellence. As Open Science continues to reshape research, repositories serve as critical knowledge infrastructures that ensure research outputs remain accessible, trustworthy, and reusable.

Recognising the strategic importance of repositories, OpenAIRE, COAR, LIBER, and SPARC Europe conducted a 2-stage community consultation in 2024. The results, named IMPACT-REPO Action Plan, reveal a strong consensus on the value of repositories in four key areas: impact, inclusiveness, trust, and innovation.

A call to action is presented for institutions to strengthen repositories for the future, recognising that repositories are not just infrastructure, they are strategic assets that accelerate knowledge sharing and enhance research impact.

Shaping the future of FAIR Metrics for repositories

Participate in EOSC-A Task Force's survey on reusability

Elli Papadopoulou (OpenAIRE), co-chair of the EOSC-A Task Force on FAIR Metrics and Digital Objects, will present the scope and activities of the Task Force, with a spotlight on the survey now rolling out to repository managers, during the next OpenAIRE Content Providers Community Call on April 2nd at 14h30 CEST.

The survey focuses on reusability, a key but often underrepresented aspect in assessing the FAIRness of repository outputs. We aim to identify what's currently missing to properly evaluate reusability and to collect community input that will help shape practical, meaningful FAIR assessment approaches.

Your feedback matters! Join the conversation and help us move toward actionable FAIR metrics for FAIR-aligned repositories!

Update your data source information in OpenAIRE

Explore your PROVIDE dashboard

OpenAIRE allows for registration of scholarly communication data sources, such as Literature and Data Repositories, CRIS Systems, Journals, among others. Managers can register their data sources in OpenAIRE using the OpenAIRE PROVIDE service, which offers a dashboard with a set of added-value functionalities.

Once a data source is registered in OpenAIRE, details can be updated whenever necessary, including the basic information, OAI interfaces, managers, as well as the Terms of Use.

  • Update Information: description, URL, among other details.
  • Update Interfaces: update and add OAI-PMH interface to expose metadata to OpenAIRE.
  • Update Admins: update the users with access to the dashboard to manage the data source.
  • Update Terms of Use: accept the Terms of Use and agree to the re-use of full texts.

Supporting information is provided to help managers understand how to use the dashboard (Guides and FAQs). Managers can also request additional support by contacting our experts through the helpdesk system.
