Science Europe sets the vision – OpenAIRE delivers the tools |
100% of funders surveyed now require Open Access, and 95% demand FAIR data. Assessment reforms are finally catching up. Science Europe’s latest survey reveals a continent-wide shift toward embedding Open Science into funding, careers, and culture. But adopting policies is just the first step! OpenAIRE is helping institutions go further, transforming strategic intent into real-world implementation. With the OpenAIRE Graph, ARGOS for DMPs, Monitoring Dashboard Services, national support desks, and new researcher profile service that recognise a diversity of contributions, OpenAIRE offers the infrastructure and services needed to make Open Science actionable, measurable, and rewarding. |

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
|
TIER2 and EOSC: Supporting reproducibility in European research
|
|
Improving reproducibility is a shared priority across Europe’s research landscape. The EU & UKRI-funded TIER2 project contributes to this goal by developing practical tools, guidelines, and monitoring approaches to support open and reproducible science. Closely aligned with the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), TIER2 explores real-world solutions for managing digital research objects across their lifecycle. OpenAIRE contributes through pilots that enhance DMPs with reproducibility elements (via ARGOS) and track good practices with a dedicated dashboard.

TRAINING

Learning by doing: Flipped learning boosts OpenAIRE Bootcamp
|
|
In May, OpenAIRE hosted its 7th train-the-trainer Bootcamp, five inventive days of flipped learning, hands-on activities, and vibrant peer exchange. By moving lectures into lightweight pre-recorded sessions and reserving live time for role-playing, quizzes, and case-based teamwork, the event achieved deeper engagement and stronger community ties. With glowing praise for both the expert trainers and the interactive format, the Bootcamp proved once again why it's a flagship training in Open Science. Feedback has already shaped enhancements for December’s edition: even tighter onboarding and dynamic group interactions.

RESEARCH ASSESSMENT |
Building trust in AI-Era Research Assessment |
On June 2 a CoARA–EC–ENRIO–EDI–TUM Think Tank conference took place in Brussels, with experts from across Europe explored how to reshape research assessment in light of AI, ethics, and openness. A recurring theme: the need for open infrastructures as enablers of transparent, fair, and adaptable evaluation systems. From persistent identifiers to interoperable data and responsible AI tools, open infrastructures were recognized as essential to move from principles to practice, supporting reforms that are accountable, inclusive, and future-ready. |

NEW SERVICE |
Spotlight on ISSI 2025: Introducing MyResearchFolio |
Attending the Intl. Conf. on Scientotmetrics & Informetics in Yerevan, organised by our Armenian NOAD, Shushanik Sahakyan, was a highlight for our team.
We unveiled MyResearchFolio, a new upcoming service designed to support the shift toward responsible research assessment. As Europe moves forward with reform efforts through COARA and the Barcelona Declaration, MyResearchFolio offers a practical tool to help operationalise change.
