Margret Gunnarsdottir is the project manager of Open Access at the National and University Library of Iceland, the web editor of openaccess.is and the representative of Iceland for OpenAIRE from December 20121. Her predecessor in OpenAIRE was Anna Sigridur Gudnadottir. 

Margret is originally a music teacher and taught music for many years at most school levels and conducted children‘s choirs. She later became an information professional and worked as a project manager in Health Sciences Libraries between 1995-2008,  later as a project manager at the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Iceland from 2012-2021 and joined the National and University Library of Iceland in August 2021. 

Margret obtained her music teacher‘s degree in 1987 and her Library Science degree from the University of Iceland in 1999.
