Introducing the new OpenAIRE Catalogue of Services

Jul 26, 2022
On the one hand, the Open Science community, networks, users, and supporters are growing. On the other hand, technologies and OpenAIRE services evolve. The new OpenAIRE Catalogue of Services is a crossroad where all that meet and match.

So, what is new and what differentiates this catalogue?
Given that the value of OpenAIRE services is undeniable, the quality of OpenAIRE services is non-negotiable and the impact of OpenAIRE services is infinite and multidimensional, the new OpenAIRE Catalogue of Services presents an intuitive and effective way to find all the information with the minimum effort. Additionally, new materials complement the overall experience, to help users familiarize themselves with OpenAIRE services, by browsing newly thematic detailed sub-pages, like support and training.

More specifically, the new OpenAIRE Catalogue of Services introduces information in a new way:

  • New home page of the OpenAIRE Catalogue with a clear presentation of the ideal users of services and a categorization of services by portfolios.
Some novelties: A new browsing menu that allows a quick find of services categorized by portfolio and a list of portfolios in line with the research lifecycle stages.

  • A re-designed list of all services in a card view.
Some novelties: Recommended users for each service, service filtering options for quick discovery and pricing information.

  • A re-designed informative service group of pages.
Some novelties: A dedicated webpage for each service, new informative sections on service benefits for users, news cases, useful resources and service-related support material (e.g. coding material, datasets, webinars, tutorials, demos, glossary, guides, FAQs, factsheets, news)

"We believe that Open Science services should be FAIR and openly accessible to all, therefore information on them, should be clearly presented in OpenAIRE Services Catalogue". Androniki Pavlidou

Open Science users have the right to be informed and be aware of all the details regarding OpenAIRE services and select free direct access or on-demand services. Currently, through the OpenAIRE-Nexus EU Funder H2020 project (GA: 101017452), additional service owners (Episciences, OpenAPC, OpenCitations) have registered their services on the OpenAIRE Catalogue. Do you think you want to register a service? Please contact us.

Last but not least, it is crucial to mention that the OpenAIRE Catalogue of Services is fully compatible with the EOSC Marketplace (Catalogue).

What is next?

There is more accompanying OpenAIRE services material to follow in the next period, with additional visualizations, new types of material, and enriched and updated information. If you want to be updated, please subscribe to the OpenAIRE newsletter.

You are all welcome to provide feedback and contact us [info_at_openaire.eu] or via OpenAIRE Helpdesk to express your opinion or point out anything that escaped our attention.
