Jonathan England
Open Science Training Specialist
Jonathan England started their career as a scientist in evolutionary biology. During their PhD, they discovered the world of Open Science and immediately connected with the importance of making research open and transparent. This led them to the University of Luxembourg where, for five years, they promoted Open Science practices both within the institution and at a national level as OpenAIRE’s National Open Access Desk (NOAD) representative. Seeking to help scientific research beyond a single institution, they established themself as a freelance consultant and trainer. Jonathan is currently an Open Science training specialist for OpenAIRE, with as role to develop and expand OpenAIRE’s training portfolio.
“Engaging and motivating adults to learn new concepts is not easy. I believe gamification can be an innovative and successful teaching/self-learning tool that we should develop and take advantage of. Welcome on board fellow Open Science Voyager!”
