Katarina Wiberg works as Executive Officer of Open Access at the National Library of Sweden since February 2020. She has a background in research infrastructure and the GLAM sector. She represents the National Library in COAR (Confederation of Open Access Repositories). Katarina has previosly worked as Senior Analyst at the Swedish Library Association with focus on research libraries, copyright and digital privacy. She has also worked as Research Officer at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and as Programme Director at the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education. Her educational background is the Bachelor Programme of Arts and Humanities at Stockholm University with focus on Archaeology. She has also studied Archival and Information Science at Mid Sweden University. The National Library of Sweden has a dedicated unit, Licenses and Open Access, LOA, working with the appropriation directive from the Swedish Government to act as a national coordinating body in the work towards a transition to open access to scholarly publications. The LOA-unit also negotiates license agreements for electronic information resources on behalf of Swedish universities, university colleges, governmental agencies and research institutes - the Swedish Bibsam consortium.
