A new article analyzing the problems of the highly popular, non-open Creative Commons Non-Commercial licenses (CC NC) has been published. The authors claim that even though CC NC licenses have their uses, they also have serious re-use limitations. While overused in publishing, they do not substantially contribute to a commons.
