Open Access repositories are an excellent concept and resource. But how well do they get used? How do we measure this? What are the statistics? Find out what key players in the field discussed in a recent event organized by the DFG funded Open Access Statistics (OA-Statistics) project.
Repositories are a vital element of the scholarly communication infrastructure, but they still need to demonstrate their value. It is important to engage the research community. Repository managers also need to work hard to acquire content. A recent COAR report has investigated ways to do this.
The purpose of this workshop, back in May, was to explore where the library sits in the whole data lifecycle, and pinpoint some areas as to what its role might be in the future. The workshop also invited a range of scientists to present their line of research to the audience, with ideas about where the library might be able to support them.
