Jean-Claude Guédon, Professeur honoraire of digital humanities, Université de Montréal, is a leading proponent of Open Science. He has been following OpenAIRE from its birth and we feel priviliged for his advice all these years. We asked him to write a few words about us and our work for our 10 year anniversary.
“OpenAIRE Advance and EOSC hub are committed to the vision of EOSC in order to support the provision of scientific data in a robust and federated way. In this context, I am happy to announce the publication of the White Paper “Common Vision, Service Provision, and Role in the EOSC Governance”, prepared in conjunction with our colleagues from EOSC hub.
OpenAIRE and Knowledge Unlatched (KU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop an Open Infrastructure for Open Research Analytics. Both organizations share the vision of creating an infrastructure to accelerate the transition to Open Access. The envisioned service shall deliver actionable insights to institutions based on the integration of distributed data sources such as usage data from repositories, open access platforms and cost information from OpenAPC.
The EC is poised to fund a publishing platform for scholarly articles for Horizon2020 beneficiaries. The OpenAIRE consortium welcomes this tender for Open Research Europe and while it will not be part of any tender, we are happy to enter into collaboration with bidding consortia at preparation stage as well as during implementation phase.
