Tracking research outcomes usage. In an open and trusted way.

Usage metrics is important in understanding how publicly available research is being reused and is a key indicator on the impact of OA repositories. Part of the emerging global Open Metrics framework, the OpenAIRE UsageCounts service standardizes the sharing and exchange of usage data for repositories (publications and data). Through the COUNTER Code of Practice and the OpenAIRE Guidelines for Usage Data we develop trusted metrics to promote open science.

This is a question many researchers have. Depositing in Zenodo notebooks are very popular, and many are reused from there, using code like JupyterHub. This case scenario presents how BinderHub has become popular and integration guides written for people to start their analyses from Zenodo.

The Grassy Uplands of Research Data Management: Developing Community-led RDM Resources

The OpenAIRE task force on Research Data Management used the know-how of its network to develop a rich and in-depth series of resources related to trustworthy repositories, preservation, data protection, and legal aspects. This collaborative and community-led effort support material will assist researchers in their daily data management tasks.
