An EU organisation to facilitate openness in scholarly communication
OpenAIRE becomes an organisation and is open to new members! Its legal entity, OpenAIRE A.M.K.Ε., a non-profit partnership, will ensure a permanent presence and structure for a European-wide national policy and open scholarly communication infrastructure within EOSC.
We are happy to announce that the new OpenAIRE Content Acquisition Policy (CAP) was published on October, 5 on Zenodo, OpenAIRE’s catch-all repository. The new CAP defines the conditions under which metadata of scientific products will be considered for inclusion in the OpenAIRE information space. It is important to stress that OpenAIRE collects publications from EC-funded projects as well as every other Open Access (OA) content.
Last week, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Council of LA Referencia and CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) to facilitate the use of Zenodo for researchers and institutions in Latin America. This agreement is the result of joint work that LA Referencia has been undertaking with COAR (Confederation of Open Access Repositories) and OpenAIRE, to internationalise research infrastructures and ensure alignment across regions.
Learn more about OpenAIRE’s presence in the third DI4R conference
On October 9-11, DI4R 2018 took place in the University of Lisbon, Portugal. The conference offered many interesting sessions and opportunities for networking and lively discussions on how to best meet the needs of researchers in all stages of the research life-cycle. OpenAIRE organised three main sessions focusing on Open Science (OS), and was also involved in multiple others.
Interoperability and next generation repository service
COAR, WACREN (West and Central African Research and Education Network), EIFL and other partners, coordinate a repository workshop in Zanzibar, Tanzania on November, 19-20, 2018. These activities are part of a broader effort by COAR, funded through the OpenAIRE Advance project, to help build capacity and align repository networks around the world.
