OpenAIRE runs a series of regular online community calls for all OpenAIRE content provider managers. We welcome any feedback from users. The aim of the calls is to provide clear and accurate information on our infrastructure and service developments.
On the first Wednesday of every month at 14:30 CET, the OpenAIRE Provide management team hosts a web conference call with the OpenAIRE content providers community. This is an opportunity to present and discuss recent developments from OpenAIRE, upcoming releases from the Provide related services and other relevant topics.
New DSpace extension to support ORCID and new OpenAIRE Guidelines
The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) announced the availability of a DSpace plug-in to support the OpenAIRE Guidelines for Literature Repository Managers v4 in DSpace version 5 and 6, as a result of an international collaboration between OpenAIRE, CARL and the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR)
In order to support the new OpenAIRE guidelines, repository platforms must change the way they expose their metadata. While new versions of repository platforms will support the guidelines, many institutions still use previous versions of the software, and are faced with non-compliance or undertaking challenging local development of their software. Given the widespread use of the DSpace platform, this will enable hundreds of repositories around the world to participate in network services such as OpenAIRE and LA Referencia.
OpenAIRE is looking to have more Data Repositories. Check out our metadata interoperability guidelines, register your data repository and be part of the OpenAIRE infrastructure and part of the European Open Science Cloud. OpenAIRE allows for registration research data repositories (institutional and thematic) registered in re3data. Please access OpenAIRE Provide service and know more about the registration process, the guidelines and the content acquisition policy.
