Open Science in a World of AI, Trust, and Sovereignty: Launching the OpenAIRE 2026-2028 Strategy

Research and innovation are at a turning point. Artificial intelligence is reshaping how science is conducted and assessed. Geopolitical tensions are questioning what it means to share knowledge across borders. And the demand for trusted, sovereign, and accountable research infrastructure has never been greater.

In this rapidly shifting landscape, how should open science infrastructure evolve? Who governs it, who benefits from it, and how do we ensure it remains a public good?

This webinar marks the official launch of the OpenAIRE 2026–2028 Strategy, a community-driven roadmap built around five interconnected priorities: trusted scholarly communication, responsible AI in research, open science monitoring, capacity building, and legal clarity for open science.

Join OpenAIRE leadership, policy voices, and community representatives for an open conversation about what comes next, and what role we all play in shaping it.

Target groups: NCPs, Project Coordinators, Researchers, Research Communities, Funders, Content Providers, National, Research Support Staff, Data Librarians
