The OpenAIRE guidelines are expanding! And we invite your input via our Wiki. https://guidelines.openaire.eu/wiki/

OpenAIRE now has three sets of guidelines to harvest different information from: Literature, Data Repositories and CRIS Systems.

The publications corpus in OpenAIRE is about to grow substantially, beyond the scope of FP7.  OpenAIRE will soon expand its information space to 8 million records of open access publications. This is mainly due to the inclusion of the DRIVER network of repositories, and other research outcomes. It will also make links between publications and underlying research data and expand to other funding schemes.

One of the important steps is therefore to continue to gather this enhanced content from repositories, including data repositories, and project and research information from CRISs. The new publication guidelines will also support all OA publications.

This means that the OpenAIRE guidelines have been revised and updated:

Three New sets of Guidelines

  1. Literature 3.0 – a new OAI set has been introduced into the metadata, which allows flagging up of OA publications, regardless of funder
  2. Data 1.0 – provides instructions to data repositories as to how to expose their data.
  3. CRIS – currently in draft, but will enable harvesting of Current Research Information Systems
We have established a Guidelines Wiki where you and repository managers can find the guidelines - feel free to participate, post your experiences, and add comments - we need your input! http://guidelines.openaire.eu
