validatedOpenAIRE portal includes over 11.5 million open access documents from over 600 data providers. We had over 60 new data providers (repositories and journal aggregators) joining us this year and over 50 revalidated. The following are among the newest OpenAIRE data providers that contributed over one million new records:

Other new data providers that have recently joined us include Keele Research Repository (UK), Nature Communications journal, Nordisk humaniora-eprintarkiv - the Nordic arts and humanities e-print archive, NOVO TÉKHNE journal (Venecuela), Repositorio de la UNED, TECNALIA Publications, Academica-e repository de la Universidad Pública de Navarra and Biblos-e Archivo de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain).

OpenAIRE collects:

  • All global open access research outputs;
  • Relation to funding information if available, supporting FP7 open access pilot, Horizon2020 open access mandate and helping to measure research impact;
  • Non-open access material if related to European Commission funding information, or related to another OpenAIRE affiliated funder;
  • Metadata of research datasets from funded research projects or linked with publications in the OpenAIRE information space.

OpenAIRE Guidelines provide recommendations to repository and other scientific information data managers about encoding of bibliographic metadata. The guidelines are based on the established and existing practices for different types of content providers:
  • for Literature Repositories using Dublin Core;
  • for Data Repositories using Datacite Schema; and
  • for CRIS systems based on CERIF-XML.

How to register?

1. Create an account at www.openaire.eu.
2. Make sure your repository is registered in OpenDOAR (www.opendoar.org).
3. Check if your repository is compliant with the OpenAIRE Guidelines.
4. Run a compatibility test via the validator at http://validator.openaire.eu. We will guide you with any issues.
5. Register your repository compliant to the OpenAIRE Guidelines.
