• The OpenAIRE-Nexus Consortium is aware of the attention that should be given to the overall coordination and management in order to onboard high-quality services into the EOSC and ensure their TRL9 operation. Onboarding into the EOSC will create significant technical coordination and planning challenges as some of the requirements are not clear at the time of writing and should be dealt with in due course. The technical roadmap will identify challenges with concrete and focused milestones in a relatively short time-spam and require careful quality monitoring and prevention of risks. Effective management is needed to deal with the complexity required to extract, share and integrate the results of the three activities. In this WP, CNR will address specific aspects of management by breaking down the activities onto administrative and scientific and technical coordination, while OpenAIRE will be in charge of activities focused on Quality and Risk Management and Exploitation and Sustainability.

  • This work package will focus on reaching out to EOSC users (researchers, research communities, service providers, research organizations, funders, policy makers, research infrastructures, developers, SMEs, citizen scientists) to promote the use of OpenAIRE-Nexus service portfolio. Following a multiexperience approach, WP2 activities will have users interact with, perceive and control the open science ecosystem and related applications/services throughout their digital journey across the OpenAIRE-Nexus and EOSC. More specifically, WP2 will oversee the production of communication and advocacy material, the outreach and dissemination of project goals and results, offering of support and training to EOSC users via a single-entry point, and ensure and maximize interoperability with other related initiatives.

  • This Work Package addresses all the actions needed to ensure that OpenAIRE-Nexus is “...flexible in order to take into account all the relevant governance and business models, rules for participation, operational requirements, standards, etc. in accordance with topic INFRAEOSC-03-2020.” [cit. Work Programme]. Three threads of development are foreseen: semantic interoperability (to adhere to ontologies and vocabularies as defined by the EOSC), technical interoperability (to adhere to interoperability frameworks, i.e. APIs and formats), and service portfolio packaging (to deliver an integrated Open Science publishing portfolio of services to the EOSC). As indicated by the Call, the budget of the Task may be flexibly amended to allocate further budget required to integrate interoperability frameworks as identified by the INFRAEOSC-03 awarded proposal or by the EOSC-Hub, OpenAIRE-Advance, EOSC-Secretariat, and EOSC-ENHANCE by the end of 2020.

  • This work package will operate the Virtual Access to all service installations in the PUBLISH portfolio, to ensure (i) onboarding to OpenAIRE service catalogue and EOSC service catalogue, (ii) quality of service, (iii) support to EOSC users, and (iv) collection of usage indicators and user accounting required to extrapolate the total quantity of access to the installations provided to users beyond their usual communities. Virtual access will be provided to the following installations and related reimbursement schemes: • Task 4.1 An EOSC catch-all repository for open research (Zenodo.org), deployed at CERN, unit of access “Terabytes (TBs) of data transferred”, reimbursement by Unit Cost • Task 4.2 A pan-European overlay journal platform (episciences.org), deployed at CNRS, unit of access “submitted articles”, reimbursement by Unit Cost • Task 4.3 An EOSC Data Management Plan service (Argos), deployed at ICM, unit of access “managed projects”, reimbursement by Actual Cost • Task 4.4 An EOSC tool for anonymising and publishing sensitive EOSC research datasets that is compliant with GDPR (Amnesia), deployed at ICM, unit of access “user visits”, reimbursement by Actual Cost

  • This Work Package addresses the actions needed to move towards an EOSC Open Science publishing interoperability framework, through which eInfrastructure services, thematic services, and scholarly communication services can operate in synergy to facilitate publishing of research products in a FAIR way. - Task 7.1, as requested by the Call, will proactively seek and establish synergies with other awarded proposals in INFRAEOSC-07 to identify possible interoperability scenarios between services; - Task 7.2 (to be carried out in-kind) aims at identifying general interoperability patterns between eInfrastructure or thematic services and scholarly communication services, to facilitate the implementation of automated publishing workflows that could facilitate the tedious job of publishing research products in a FAIR way.
