Turkey: Open Access Active

oa turkeyAs a new member of the OpenAIREplus Project, the Turkish NOAD (National Open Access Desk) [https://www.openaire.eu/tr] understands its important role with respect to the European Commission Open Access Policies. This includes the coordination of Turkish FP7 Projects, integration of the public founded research outputs with the OpenAIRE compliant repositories,as well as the DRIVER Infrastructure. They are busy with dissemination activities among the Turkish scientific community.

The Turkish representative works hard to encourage Turkish researchers in providing open access to articles resulting from EC funded researches and supports the libraries and information centers about the OpenAIREplus Project and other technical issues that they might need help to establish their repositories.

Turkey also hosted the 4th Annual Meeting of Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR), hosted by Ozyegin University, Istanbul between the dates of 6-8 May 2013. OpenAIREplus Turkey Project Coordinator Mr. Gultekin Gurdal (IZTECH) nominated for the Auditing Responsibility this year. Mr. Eloy Rodrigues ended his term at this meeting and Mr. Gurdal has been elected as the new Auditor of COAR. In addition, Mr. Gurdal and Mrs. Ilkay Holt has become a member of the National and International Repositories Supporting and Digital Archives Management Specialty Supporting Group in COAR.

Providing brochures & posters into Turkish and distributing to the related institutions:
