Our Second Newsletter: Data is now Mainstream
Welcome to the second OpenAIRE newsletter! It has been a busy half year for the project: outreach and synergies at the top of our agenda and we have had much communication with research and data infrastructures to see how we can bridge the gap. As we now know, ‘Data is the big arrival …Data is now Mainstream’[1] (yes, we too were present at Open Repositories...), so it’s timely that OpenAIRE will fittingly serve to connect the two building blocks of the research infrastructure: publication repositories and research data.
Big news is that we now have 25k publications in our information space! This massive growth happened via the tireless work of our technical teams who text-mined from a range of sources.

Next steps for OpenAIRE are to migrate all the DRIVER repositories and start to identify publications (and data) outside of FP7, to national and other funding schemes.
