OpenAIRE and Aurora Universities Network collaboration

OpenAIRE and the National Science Library of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (NSLC) are partnering to enhance open science by improving research visibility and infrastructure interoperability between Europe and China. This collaboration focuses on aligning metadata standards and advancing the data management systems of PubScholar and the OpenAIRE Graph through workshops, data exchange protocols, and joint development of key functionalities.

By co-developing OpenAIRE Guidelines and fostering open access practices, this partnership aims to build a global network for sharing open science infrastructure, improving the accessibility and trustworthiness of research. Through this three-year initiative, OpenAIRE and NSLC will enrich academic collaboration and strengthen global open science practices.

OpenAIRE and Aurora teams collaborate to classify research output by SDG goals and SDG targets. Both teams have the opportunity to learn from each other and use the outcome of the collaboration to provide new functionalities like SDG-oriented discovery of research output and statistics on Open Science and SDGs.

OpenAIRE offers a CONNECT gateway as a single entry-point to all research outputs of the Aurora Universities. By becoming OpenAIRE compliant, Aurora repositories will ensure their outputs are available in the gateway and counted for statistics to measure the uptake of Open Science practices (e.g. Open Access, links between publications and datasets).

In addition, Aurora repositories have the possibility to use other services for Open Science offered by OpenAIRE via the Content Provider Dashboard.
