Ubiquity Press, publisher of titles such as Open Health Data and Stability, have now integrated their editorial management platform with the OpenAIRE platform. Of particular interest is that the metadata from the journals is enriched by links to research data DOIs. The integration will also ensure that articles funded by the European Union’s Framework Program Seven (FP7) and Horizon2020 can automatically be harvested by OpenAIRE to make them even more visible and accessible to academia, industry and the general public. All journal titles in OpenAIRE can be found here.
Tracking Funded Research
Publications and data should be easy to find. By contributing to the OpenAIRE collection, Ubiquity’s publications and its links to data make visible a more comprehensive research record. The integration will ensure that articles funded by the EC’s Seventh Framework Program (FP7) can automatically be tracked by OpenAIRE to make them even more visible and accessible. Funding agencies and institutions can now easily find and access publications resulting from projects supported by public funds as OpenAIRE’s metadata is enriched by funding information. The Ubiquity platform is now expanding to include publication of other resource types such as bioresources and open hardware, so OpenAIRE will shortly be able to report on the reuse and impact of an even wider range of funded research outputs.
Links to Research Data and other publication forms

In collaboration with OpenAIRE, Ubiquity have integrated their Open Access journal platform, which uses core components of the Open Journal Systems open source system, with the OpenAIRE harvesting mechanism. The indexed journals also display new publication forms such as data and software papers, such as can be found in the Journal of Open Research Software and the Journal of Open Archaeology Data . In addition, OpenAIRE has developed a unique set of ‘inference’ tools which means that links to datasets within the journal articles are also available, via text mining techniques. In total, over 2500 publications are now integrated, with nearly 40 links to datasets.

As an Open Access publisher, ensuring the widest possible dissemination of our authors’ work is our number one focus" says Brian Hole, CEO Ubiquity Press. "We aim to facilitate the validation, reuse and extension of this work, and it is therefore critical that the data, software and other resources associated with it are also widely available. We are therefore extremely happy to cooperate with OpenAire to increase the visibility and reuse of all of these publications and their associated resources.”
