Public Interest Institutions Survey: Copyright in Distance Education and Research
The European Commission is currently conducting a study exploring the role of copyright in facilitating access to digital collections of public interest institutions (PIIs); this includes libraries, archives, museums, educational establishments and research organisations. The main objective of this study is to understand how copyright rules impact access to various content for education and research purposes, especially in the context of a digital environment.
This study is being carried out at the request of the European Commission by Visionary Analytics, in association with research partners Ecorys, KEA, and OK Consulting.
As part of this study, a survey was commissioned by the European Commission to record the insights of both institutions (cultural heritage institutions such as libraries, museums and archives, educational institutions and research institutions) and educators, students and scientific researchers. The goal is to record the point-of-view and insights of the institutions as well as those of the persons directly involved in their daily function; therefore your participation would contribute immensely to the quality of the end results of this study.
While the survey targets participants primarily from 15 EU Member States (Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia and Sweden), participants from other European countries are more than welcome to participate as well.
