Pigeons’ memory for event duration

Spetch, Marcia Louise (1981)
Publisher: The University of British Columbia
Pigeon's working memory for event duration was investigated using variations of the delayed matching to sample procedure. When a retention interval of variable length was interposed between the sample and comparison stimuli, pigeons responded as though a long-duration sample had been short after retention intervals of 10 sec or greater. This "choose short" effect occurred reliably in each subject, regardless of whether the subject was naive or experienced, whether the sample durations were re...

First Measurement of the Photon Structure Function F2

DESY-PETRA, PLUTO COLLABORATION. ELECTRON-PHOTON SCATTERING: LARGE ANGLE TAG TOGETHER WITH ANTITAGGING ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE. THE UNTAGGED PHOTON TARGET IS ALMOST REAL (Q2 ABOUT 0.07 GEV**2) AND TRANSVERSELY POLARIZED. SCALING VARIABLE X IS (Q2/(Q2+W**2)).

NREL Solar Radiation Research Laboratory (SRRL): Baseline Measurement System (BMS); Golden, Colorado (Data)

Stoffel, T.; Andreas, A. (1981)
Publisher: National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Golden, CO (United States)
The SRRL was established at the Solar Energy Research Institute (now NREL) in 1981 to provide continuous measurements of the solar resources, outdoor calibrations of pyranometers and pyrheliometers, and to characterize commercially available instrumentation. The SRRL is an outdoor laboratory located on South Table Mountain, a mesa providing excellent solar access throughout the year, overlooking Denver. Beginning with the basic measurements of global horizontal irradiance, direct normal irrad...

Measurement of the Continuum of Dimuons Produced in High-Energy Proton - Nucleus Collisions

PLAB=200.,300.,400.GEV/C. *** FINAL RESULTS FROM STONY-BROOK, COLUMBIA-FERMILAB COLLABORATION *** THESE DATA SUPERCEDE PREVIOUS RESULTS FROM THIS COLLAB (I.E. THE LEDERMAN OUTFIT ). SIX TIMES MORE STATISTICS ARE INCLUDED. CROSS SECTIONS PER NUCLEON ARE QUOTED. TO GET THESE THE A DEPENDENCE OF THE PLATINUM AND BERYLLIUM TARGETS WAS STUDIED AND A=1.007+-0.018 WAS OBTAINED.
