A fundamental limitation of linearized algorithms for diffuse optical tomography

Boas, D. A. (1997)
Publisher: Figshare
Diffuse Optical Tomography is rapidly developing as a new imaging modality for characterizing the spatially varying optical properties of media which strongly scatter light (e.g. tissue). Numerous imaging algorithms exist, and more are being developed. Many of these algorithms rely on assumptions which linearize the relationship between the optical contrast and the perturbed signal. We show that this linear approximation makes quantitative imaging of spatially varying optical properties impos...

High resolution imaging of in vivo cardiac dynamics using color Doppler optical coherence tomography

Color Doppler optical coherence tomography (CDOCT) is a noninvasive technique for simultaneous high spatial resolution (~20 μm) imaging and high velocity resolution (~500 μm/s) imaging flowmetry in living tissues. In this paper, we demonstrate a reconstruction method which overcomes fundamental limitations on Doppler flow mapping associated with both high- and low-speed imaging. This algorithm is successful in retaining the high velocity resolution of CDOCT while eliminating motion artifact c...

Mortality Detail File, 1992

United States Department of Health and Human Services. National Center for Health Statistics (1997)
Publisher: ICPSR - Interuniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research
This data collection describes every death or fetal death registered in the United States for 1992. Information includes the month of death, day of the week of death, the sex and race of the deceased, the age of the deceased at the time of death, the deceased's place of residence, place of death, and whether an autopsy was performed. Causes of death are coded using THE MANUAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL STATISTICAL CLASSIFICATION OF DISEASES, INJURIES, AND CAUSE-OF-DEATH, NINTH REVISION (ICD-9), VOL...

Measurement of the proton - anti-proton pair production from two photon collisions at TRISTAN

KEK-TRISTAN. Measurement of the cross section for proton-antiproton production in two-photon collisions at centre of mass energies between 2.2 and 3.3 GeV, using the process E+ E- --& gt; E+ E- PBAR P at centre of mass energies from 57 to 64 GeV. The data comes from a sample of integrated luminosity 331 pb-1.

Measurement of the spectral functions of vector current hadronic tau decays

CERN-LEP. A measurement of the spectral functions of non-strange $\tau$ vector current final states is presented, using 124358 $\tau$ pairs recorded by the ALEPH detector at LEP during the years 1991 to 1994. The spectral functions of the dominant two- and four-pion $\tau$ decay channels are compared to published results of $e^+e^-$ annihilation experiments via isospin rotation. A combined fit of the pion form factor from $\tau$ decays and $e^+e^-$ data is performed using different parame...
