Among the photographs of Belogradchik, published in books and journals from the 19th and early 20th centuries, there are two thate raise eyebrows today with their view. One of them shows Belogradchik fortress in the form in which it probably never existed. In the other photograph the Belogradchik fortress, enlarged in 1837, cannot be recognized.
