  • Integration of Audio-Visual and Traditional Practices for Effective Classroom Teaching

    Singh, Deepika; Kumar, Mukul (2018)
Education is one of the principal buildings blocks of the civilization. Since many centuries, teaching has been extensively accepted as a Nobel profession. The expected duty of teachers is to deliver their best in receiving and conveying the information correctly to their students in class and they do. But, in the modern era, when the young generation is conquered by the technological advancements, implementation of innovative teaching practices may help to improve the education system and ca...

Investigation of Mechanical Properties of Sisal Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites

    Prasad, Manjunath G.; Girimath, A. G; Rao, Sharath; Vinekar, A. J; Patil, D. C; Timmanagoudar, S. N.; Mathad, Shridhar N. (2017)
The aim of this work is to study the influence of sisal fiber content on mechanical (i.e. tensile, flexural, impact, hardness and abrasion resistance) and thermal (i.e. TGA) properties of composites by varying the fiber and epoxy percentage. The composite was prepared by the melt-mixing method, followed by compression molding process. The percentage of sisal fiber is varied from 4% to 10% in steps of 2%. Similarly epoxy content is varied from 96% to 90% in steps of 2%. Detailed mechanical Pro...

    Size-dependent Optical Response of Magneto-plasmonic Core-shell Nanoparticles

Bhatia, Pradeep; Verma, Suram Singh; Sinha, Murari Mohan (2017)
Functional properties tunability prospect of multi-layered and multi-metallic nanoparticles with respect to their emerging applications has always been the area of attraction. Magneto-plasmonic nanoparticles (MPNPs) present the possibility to exhibit their tuneable magnetic and optical properties with broad applications in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cancer therapy, photovoltaic solar cells, biological microscopy, optical imaging, and biosensing. Present studies found that the optical p...

Novel Prototype of Mining Helmet to Facilitate Cooling

Pujar, Hanumesha; Suhel, Syed; Dinakar, Naveen; Baseganni, Chetan; Gohil, Mayur; Kulkarni, Rahul (2017)
The thermal comfort of mining helmet during mining process is important as it can affect the physiological and psychological condition of the worker. The project deals with the development of a cooling system for mining helmet using powerful fan technology. The system consists of mainly two fans and batteries. Electrical power is used to run the fan, which creates a temperature difference inside the helmet and facilitates cooling. Fans are used to suck the air from the surrounding and air is ...

Effect of Electron Beam Irradiation on Polymers

    Singh, Pradeep; Venugopal, B R; Nandini, D R (2018)
Electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) in combination with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) is widely used for chemical state analysis of variety of chemical compounds. High beam sensitivity of substances like polymers hinders the possibility of exploring in-depth analysis provided through the high spatially resolved EELS spectroscopy. In this study, the electron beam irradiation damage on polymers were analyzed with varying dose of electron beams. The stability of the polymers under ...
