  • Incorporating Green Manures

    Alföldi, Thomas; Stoecklin, Milo (2013)
Under organic conditions, green manure is the main driver of soil fertility. But how can it be broken up before the establishment of the next crop? This may depend on the present weeds and also on the cultivation technique of the succeeding crop (with or without ploughing, deep or superficial tillage, etc.). The film shows various possible strategies. Each strategy matches a specific cultivation system and a particular machine.

Radrensning giver merudbytte i vårsæd - resultater fra 2016

    Theilgaard, Malene (2017)
Experience from four different trials with hoeing in spring cereals. On average, there is a higher yield in hoed plots compared to non-hoed plots.

Prüfung einer Spätsaat bei einer modernen Hybridroggensorte

Urbatzka, Peer; Cais, Kathrin; Salzeder, Georg (2017)
The impact of seeding time was tested for hybrid rye in a yearlong field trial in Upper Bavaria. The rye (one variety) was seeded with the same sowing density at the end of September and at the mid of October, respectively. The impact of seeding time could be observed year-round: the mass growth before and after winter was obviously reduced by late sowing in comparison to usual seeding time. The results were lower plant height and clearly lower plant density in the variant late seeding ...

Potential and Limits of Pesticide Free Apple Growing by a Self-Regulating Orchard Set-Up: Project Presentation and First Experiences

    Weibel, F.P.; Daniel, C.; Hammelehle, A.; Pfiffner, L.; Wyss, E. (2010)
Different research groups have already proven that flowering plants in orchards can enhance beneficial arthropods. Even within the tree rows different beneficial can be supported by selected plant species. In most experimental work done to stabilize the apple production system only single interaction effects were tested. However until now, no research group has quantified the additive effects of multiple measures on systembiodiversity and on the production economy. Our experiment combines ...
