  • Enantiospecific approach to AB-ring system of the diterpenes fusicoccanes

    Srikrishna, A; Nagaraju, Gopalasetty (2011)
Enantiospecific synthesis of the AB ring system of 5-8-5 tricyclic diterpenes fusicoccanes has been accomplished, starting from the readily available monoterpene (R)-limonene employing an reaction as the key step.

Photodissociation of C6H5I, C6F5I, and related iodides in the ultraviolet

    Kavita, K; Das, Puspendu K (2002)
The quantum yields of I*(2P1/2) production from iodobenzene and pentafluoroiodobenzene at five different dissociation wavelengths of 222, 236, 266, 280, and ~305 nm are presented and compared with those obtained from nonaromatic cyclic iodides (i.e., cyclohexyl iodide and adamantyl iodide). The I(2P3/2) and I*(2P1/2) atoms generated in the photolysis of the above iodides were monitored using a two-photon laser-induced fluorescence technique. From the measured I* quantum yields, two general ob...

CP Studies of the Higgs Sector: A contribution to the LHC/LC Study Group document

Godbole, RM; Kraml, S; Krawczyk, M; Miller, DJ; Niezurawski, P; Zarnecki, AF (2004)
The CP structure of the Higgs sector will be of great interest to future colliders. The measurement of the CP properties of candidate Higgs particles will be essential in order to distinguishmodels of electroweak symmetry breaking, and to discover or place limits on CP-violation in theHiggs sector. In this reportwe briefly summarize various methods of determining the CP properties of Higgs bosons at different colliders and identify areas wheremore study is required. We also provide an example...

    Amphibians of Peninsular India

    Gururaja, KV (2005)
Frogs and toads have always fascinated man through the ages, dating back to Mandukya Upanishad of the Vedic ages to the cent discoveries in the Western Ghats. More technically known as ‘amphibians’ (Greek equivalent for their biphasic life stages as tadpoles and adults), these include caecilians, salamanders, newts, and sirens. Amphibians are in serious scientific contention over the last decade for at least two main reasons. One being far more crucial, pertaining to their viable existence as...

Selective Determination of Uric Acid in Presence of Ascorbic Acid and Dopamine at Neutral pH Using Exfoliated Graphite Electrodes

    Ramesh, P; Sampath, S (2004)
Exfoliated graphite electrodes have been used to detect uric acid at neutral pHs, by following its oxidation. A linear range of 5-53 \mu M and a detection limit of 5 \mu M are observed at a pH of 7.0. Uric acid was found to be selectively adsorbed on exfoliated graphite surface in the presence of excess ascorbic acid. This leads to its selective determination in the presence of ascorbic acid. Simultaneous detection of uric acid, dopamine and ascorbic acid has also been demonstrated on exfolia...
