The role of the design features of the friction unit (tribosystems) on electric thermal mechanicalfriction and wear is so great that the constructive parameters of friction unit (friction area, themutual re-coating, shape and size of frictional engagement elements and it suppleness, energylevels of surface and subsurface layers of contacting elements, generated electric currents andaccumulated thermal currents and others) stand out among the main factors, along with thefriction mode parameters and properties of the frictional materials.We’ve illustrated next questions: effect of static and dynamic friction coefficient of mutualoverlap of friction pairs; the impact of area of actual contact of friction pairs on their energy loading;influence of thermal regime; influence of environment and gas mixtures on electricthermal mechanical friction.The materials of the article show the influence of the structural elements of the friction unit ofdifferent types of braking devices for major determinants electric thermal mechanical frictionin friction units. В материалах статьи показано влияние элементов конструкции фрикционногоузла различных видов тормозных устройств на основные определяющие факторы электротермомеханического трения в трибосопряжении. У матеріалах статті показано вплив елементів конструкції фрикційного вузла різних ви-дів гальмівних пристроїв на основні визначальні чинники електротермомеханічного тертя в трибоспряженні.
