By means of a coronagraph and a visual skyphotometer which is based upon coronagraph principles, the intensity of the solar aureole in the interval 4?–66? from the sun limb has been studied. The results show that there is a good correlation between the type of prevailing air mass and the characteristics of the measured intensity.
