An intervention into the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology Cambridge’s World Archaeology Gallery, Creativity in the Bronze Age: A Response presents works by seven contemporary craft artists alongside Bronze Age items from the museums collections. Sited in and around six iconic hundred-year-old display cases the display is a direct expression of the artists’ engagement with the creativity and craft of the European Bronze Age, c. 2500 – 800 BC.\ud \ud Through an eighteen-month exploration of Bronze Age creativity as part of the CinBA Maker Engagement Project, the artists have experienced excavations first- hand, handled collections at major international museums, and explored key sites alongside archaeologists.\ud \ud This exhibition maps these experiences through their own work, and encourages a dialogue between contemporary and prehistoric creativity.
