Students on the MA Primary Education programme are encouraged to ensure the lessons they prepare and deliver to primary school children are engaging and relevant. University teachers must, therefore, ensure their teaching is equally engaging and relevant in order to model good practice. This can be achieved, in part, by examining (and being seen to examine) new pedagogies and methodologies which can have a positive impact on the effectiveness of learning and teaching. This workshop focuses on some technology-enabled active learning experiences used to engage and motivate pre-service teachers as well as model good practice in moving away from teacher-led instruction to student-led learning.
